What's the difference between Coaching and Therapy?

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​In the words of a client, "This is like therapy but so much better! I feel like I can share everything with you and then get the information I need to make actual change."  Coaching is different than therapy.

Coaching is like architecture.  We build from exactly where you are right now and create forward progress.  Coaching begins from the acknowledgement that you are whole, capable and complete exactly as you are.  You are not in need of fixing but open to guidance and support of refining and relearning what is best for you now and in the future.

Therapy has more of an archeological feel. Therapy follows a medical model that will diagnose and "treat" a condition or disorder.

There is no right or wrong - it is simply where you feel will be more appropriate for you during this time.  Some people also choose to do them together.  I can help you get clear on this during our clarity call.

Do I need to be prepared?

Accepted Answer

No. You may wish to bring something to discuss specifically or not. As your Coach, I will keep an eye on your big goals and themes. Bring whatever feels most important for you at the time and together we will explore it. You are the authority on you - always. I ask the questions to help guide your journey.

What if I don't have the answers?

Accepted Answer

Chances are you won't think you do (but you actually do and that's the fun part). Remember that you are here to find a solution. I am here to witness you, sometimes challenge you and/or encourage you to your next best action. Progress is our purpose here. Sometimes you actually want to be 'wrong' about a topic because that allows us to change your experience in it. Warm up to the idea of new possibility and you will enjoy this process and the outcomes lovingly.

What if I don't feel ready?

You are here because you have empowered yourself to take radical responsibility. As your Coach, I will be redirecting you to what you can control, who & how you wish to be in it, to change it or accept it. It is a process that we will navigate safely together. Action before motivation, Beauty.  We rarely if ever actually feel ready.​

What if I don't like what you say?

Accepted Answer

Your resistance is welcome here. As your coach, I will likely be moving you out of your comfort zone and into your next best version of you. Over the course of our time together, it is inevitable that you may feel triggered or have an emotional response that you are not expecting.

Please know with 100% certainty that you and I are here for you and your growth. Allow for all of it and we will move through it successfully in a way that feels safe for you. I’ve got you and I am going to teach you to be your own best advocate through this process. I don't need you to like me but trusting me will be very helpful in getting you to your desired results. 
(Most people do usually like me though😍 ...just saying.😉😅)

The more you communicate with me the more I can help you reach your success - even if you think it may not be nice or may hurt my feelings. I’m the coach you are choosing for your reasons.  Trust that nudge and I'll take care of the rest.

Think of coaching as a road trip with me as your co-pilot. You always set the destination and I help guide you to it - with mind management, embodiment strategies and thought provoking questions. There may be obstacles ⚠️ along the way and you will learn how to navigate those in a way that is manageable for you. My role is to always guide you to your destination successfully.🏆
